Free Courses Continue at the "4SI Academy"

16 April 2024

An additional 1,000 individuals will participate in free courses on digital and communication skills development through the Coursera online education platform.

In Azerbaijan, another 1,000 people have begun free six-week educational programs on the U.S.-based Coursera platform. This opportunity is provided under the "4SI Academy" project, a collaboration between the Center for Analysis and Coordination of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (under the Ministry of Economy), the Education Development Fund (under the Ministry of Science and Education), and Coursera.

The project aims to enhance digital skills in the country, increase knowledge and competencies in advanced technologies, and support the preparation of qualified professionals for the labour market. Coursera, an online education platform with over 100 million learners, offers nearly 10,000 courses from approximately 280 universities and leading companies. These courses cover various fields such as artificial intelligence, big data, data analytics, blockchain, cloud technologies, leadership, communication, English language, and more. Through the "4SI Academy" project, around 800 courses from prestigious universities like Yale, Duke, Michigan, Illinois, and Virginia, as well as leading tech companies such as Google, IBM, Microsoft, and Meta, are made available for free to Azerbaijani citizens.

Participants who successfully complete the training will receive certificates, and those who complete at least two or three recommended courses by the "4SI Academy" will be awarded digital badges. Registration for the one-year pilot project, which started on September 15, 2023, is now closed, with 10,000 people registered to benefit from Coursera's online education platform in phases. So far, 6,000 individuals have utilized the platform, with 2,000 of them obtaining certificates. Further information about the continuation of the project will be provided.
