Context:
C4IR, under the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, is seeking applications from design and architectural firms for the design of Next Generation Technologies Center (NGTC). This envisioned facility aims to serve as a hub for innovation, advancing digital transformation, and boosting the competencies of local businesses. The chosen firm will be responsible for designing an interactive, modern, and user-centered space that reflects the NGTC’s vision. Additionally, the firm will provide comprehensive technical documentation required for construction, ensuring the project’s seamless execution.
Information about NGTC:
The Center aims to drive the digital transformation of the economy by generating inspiration, accelerating capability building and skills development, and enabling an innovation driven ecosystem. The NGTC will function as a one-stop-shop that focuses on I.4.0 technologies and will help the industry to learn about the benefits of digital technologies on manufacturing processes. The state-of-the-art technology and world-class know-how present at the NGTC will provide a unique opportunity/journey for/to the stakeholders to get hands-on experience on the transformative impact of the digital use-cases. The NGTC will also act as a platform to enable a nurturing ecosystem for all stakeholders such as technology providers, entrepreneurs and manufacturing industry companies and catalyze the I.4.0 transformation processes.
The Center will have a production line mimicking the real factory environment of the local industry and showcase the benefits of the digital technologies on manufacturing processes. A relevant/tangible product, marmalade, will be produced on the production line and the product processes will be flexible to demonstrate transformation from a non-digital state to digitalized one through adoption of use-cases across various I.4.0 levers (e.g. IoT, automation, AI, etc.). Having the opportunity to experience the evolution from non-digital to digitized scenarios on a real production line will not only generate inspiration on digital technologies but also provide an invaluable set-up for experiential learning and skills building of the target groups.
Information about the location:
The building selected for the center, currently functioning as a business hub and meeting venue, spans three floors and over 4,000 square meters. The center will undergo a comprehensive renovation to transform it into a modern facility. Once completed, it will accommodate a team of over 50 employees and feature five dedicated training rooms, each approximately 60 square meters, along with 3-4 meeting rooms ranging from 100 to 130 square meters. In addition, there will be open co-working spaces covering 100 to 200 square meters. The facility will include a 500-square-meter conference center with seating for 200 people, a 200-square-meter dining hall, and a state-of-the-art model factory equipped with advanced digital solutions, occupying 1,000 square meters.
The key design principles: The Center will undergo renovation to also serve as an attraction center. Thus, new renovation of the center should reflect modernity and technological advancement in every aspect of the work.

- Proven track record in architectural design projects: Delivered a minimum of 5 architectural design projects over the past 3 years (For each project, please submit project overview and output design samples)
