Launch of the "National Program" within the "4IR Academy"

14 March 2025

The "National Program" has officially been launched as part of the "4IR Academy," offering access to over 8,000 training courses from nearly 350 prestigious universities and leading technology companies worldwide.

In collaboration with the Center for Analysis and Coordination of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (C4IR Azerbaijan) under the Ministry of Economy, the Education Development Fund under the Ministry of Science and Education, and the U.S.-based company Coursera, the program aims to accelerate Azerbaijan's transition to a digital economy. Supported by SOCAR, PASHA Holding, bp, and JOCAP, the initiative will provide thousands of users with free access to Coursera's extensive online training resources for one year.

The primary goal of the program is to enhance knowledge and skills in Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) technologies, fostering a qualified workforce in the labor market. Azerbaijani citizens, regardless of age or employment status, can register on 4sim.gov.az to take advantage of this opportunity.

Access to World-Class Training and Certifications

Registered users will receive a six-week license to access the Coursera platform, enabling them to participate in courses from renowned institutions such as Oxford, Stanford, Yale, Duke, London, Edinburgh, Manchester, Michigan, Johns Hopkins, Illinois, Florida, and Sydney. Additionally, participants can benefit from courses offered by leading technology companies, including Microsoft, Google, Meta, IBM, AWS, Oracle, GitLab, Intel, SAP, and Salesforce.

The available courses span a wide range of fields, including 4IR technologies, artificial intelligence, machine learning, big data, data analytics, blockchain, cloud technologies, programming languages, leadership, personal development, and communication skills. A total of 8,000 specialized courses and training programs will be accessible under the "National Program." Those who successfully complete the courses will receive internationally recognized certifications from Coursera.

AI-Powered Learning in Azerbaijani

As part of the program, Coursera will provide Azerbaijani subtitles for the 2,500 most in-demand courses using artificial intelligence. Additionally, 10 high-demand courses will feature Azerbaijani voiceovers generated using deepfake AI technology, ensuring broader accessibility for local learners.

Employment Opportunities through "Hiring Solutions"

The program also integrates the "Hiring Solutions" tool, which will be available to employers in Azerbaijan. This feature enables businesses to identify and connect with individuals who have completed relevant courses, facilitating job placement opportunities. Moreover, users can benefit from the AI-powered "Coursera Coach," which provides personalized guidance in selecting courses aligned with their educational and career aspirations.

Proven Success and International Recognition

During the initial phase of the "4IR Academy" last year, 10,000 participants benefited from free Coursera courses over 12 months. Collectively, they completed over 32,000 hours of training, earning 4,200 international certifications.

In recognition of its impact, the initiative won the "AI Innovation" category of the "Outstanding Achievement Award 2024" by Coursera. The expansion of the "National Program" in 2024 reaffirms its commitment to upskilling Azerbaijani professionals and fostering a future-ready workforce.
