The Global Government Forum "Innovation 2024" event took place in London on March 19-20. Fariz Jafarov, Executive Director of the Center for Analysis and Coordination of the Fourth Industrial Revolution under the Ministry of Economy, was a speaker at the "Innovation in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning" session. His presentation focused on preparing the public sector for Artificial Intelligence (#AI).
Jafarov emphasized five key goals for global public sector readiness for AI: education and workforce development, research and innovation, regulatory framework and ethics, infrastructure and data management, and international cooperation.
The event showcased Azerbaijan's public service reforms, including ASAN Service centers, digital government initiatives, and upcoming digital economy strategies until 2030. Additionally, ongoing and planned AI projects were highlighted.
Co-hosted by the UK Government, UK Civil Service, and Cabinet Office, the event gathered over 4,000 participants from 70 countries. Discussions revolved around the public and private sector roles in fostering sustainable and transparent innovation ecosystems, addressing challenges, and sharing successful experiences.
