High-Level Meeting on Sustainable Development and Climate Leadership

In the lead-up to COP29, the Center for Analysis and Coordination of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (C4IR) under the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan, in collaboration with the World Economic Forum’s (WEF) network of Fourth Industrial Revolution Centres, hosted an exclusive high-level dinner aimed at advancing cooperation in climate action and sustainable development.

 

Gim Huay, Managing Director of the World Economic Forum and Head of the Centre for Nature and Climate inaugurated the event, stressing the critical role of global leadership in realizing a sustainable, net-zero future.

 

The gathering brought together senior figures from the public and private sectors, experts, and senior leadership from WEF’s Centre for Nature and Climate to deliberate on strategic partnerships in energy transition, sustainable resource management, and strengthened climate initiatives. Representatives from Azerbaijan underscored the nation’s strategic commitments to strengthening its contribution to global climate efforts and achieving emissions reduction targets.

 

The event’s agenda also included a key session, "From Ambition to Action: Collaborating on Climate Solutions and Policy," featuring prominent figures from international climate action, global business, and sustainability organizations.

 

The evening concluded with an insightful discussion on "Scaling Innovative Partnerships and Investments for a Net-Zero, Nature-Positive, and Socially Equitable Future," providing a platform for leaders to explore transformative solutions and deepen cross-sector collaboration.
