The Centre for Analysis and Coordination of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (C4IR Azerbaijan) under the Ministry of Economy held an online meeting with representatives of the Stanford Research Institute (SRI International) - one of the United States’ leading independent research and innovation organisations.
The meeting brought together Fariz Jafarov, Executive Director of C4IR Azerbaijan, Christiana McFarland, Director of the Center for Innovation Strategy and Policy at SRI International, and Lawrence Lee, Chief Strategy Officer of the institute.
During the discussion, Mr Jafarov presented C4IR Azerbaijan’s core activities and strategic priorities, highlighting the organisation’s role in advancing technological innovation, digital transformation, and Industry 4.0 adoption across key economic sectors.
Participants exchanged views on the role of emerging technologies in economic diversification, the development of skills required in the digital economy, and potential areas for joint initiatives in research and innovation.

Building on Earlier Engagement
This meeting followed the first engagement between the two institutions, which took place in June 2025 during the Global Technology Retreat (GTR 2025) in San Francisco. As part of a visit organised by the World Economic Forum for GTR participants, the C4IR Azerbaijan delegation also visited SRI International’s innovation campus, laying the groundwork for ongoing collaboration.
