16 January 2026

The Center for Analysis and Coordination of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (C4IR Azerbaijan) under the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan will participate in the 56th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF), which will take place in Davos, Switzerland, from January 19 to 23, 2026.

The Annual Meeting aims to accelerate economic growth through global dialogue, support the energy transition, expand digital transformation, and develop joint solutions for long-term sustainability.

As Azerbaijan’s center within the World Economic Forum’s Global Network of Fourth Industrial Revolution Centers, the 4IR Center is the first center in the CIS region and one of 24 centers worldwide. Within the framework of cooperation with the World Economic Forum, more than 15 joint initiatives are being implemented in areas such as artificial intelligence, the digital economy, Industry 4.0, and energy transition.

Within the framework of the Forum, a session titled “Accelerating the Energy Transition through Technological Transformation: AI-Driven Industry” will be organized. The discussion will focus on the industrial-scale application of artificial intelligence and digital technologies in the energy sector, increasing operational efficiency, and accelerating the transition to low-carbon energy systems.

During the Davos meeting, Fariz Jafarov, Executive Director of the C4IR Azerbaijan, will participate as a speaker in two sessions:

  • “Scaling GovTech: Not Digitizing the Past, but Managing the Age of AI,” organized by the Government of Estonia, and

  • “Transforming Energy Systems: AI, Data Centers, and Energy Storage Solutions,” organized by Prosperity Paths.

This year, the Davos Forum will bring together more than 3,000 participants from 130 countries, including 60 heads of state and government, more than 900 company CEOs, 1,600 business leaders, as well as representatives of international organizations, civil society, and academia. In total, 194 sessions are scheduled to take place during the Forum.

It should be noted that the C4IR Azerbaijan maintains close cooperation with five core centers of the World Economic Forum’s network. As a result of this collaboration, five joint reports have been published on official WEF platforms, and more than ten international events have been jointly organized.
