Digital Economy Development Strategy integrated into WEF’s Strategic Intelligence platform
The integration of Azerbaijan’s Digital Economy Development Strategy into the World Economic Forum’s Strategic Intelligence platform marks an important step in promoting the country’s digital transformation agenda at the global level.
The Strategy for the Development of the Digital Economy in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2026–2029 has been integrated into the World Economic Forum’s Strategic Intelligence platform. This milestone is significant in terms of increasing the global visibility of Azerbaijan’s digital transformation agenda and strengthening the country’s active participation in the international knowledge-sharing ecosystem.
The placement of the Strategy on an international platform creates added value across several areas. First, Azerbaijan’s priorities and initiatives in the field of digital economy become more accessible to the global expert community. This, in turn, supports the expansion of international cooperation, the attraction of foreign investment and the transfer of advanced practices to the country.
At the same time, the platform enables approaches to the implementation of the Strategy to be compared with the experience of other countries, creating opportunities to improve policies in a more flexible and effective manner. In this context, Azerbaijan moves closer to its goal of becoming a regional hub in the field of digital economy.
Supported by content contributions from partners such as Harvard, Yale and Oxford universities, as well as KAIST, Strategic Intelligence is an AI-powered digital analytics environment that systematizes knowledge on global challenges and strategic initiatives. The platform enables users to understand key trends and interconnections across more than 250 topics.
Strategic Intelligence serves as a unified knowledge base for decision-makers, experts and organizations by bringing together national strategies, research and best practices from around the world. Through the platform, users can track global trends in specific fields, analyze the impact of policies and compare approaches adopted by different countries.
The Digital Economy Development Strategy defines the acceleration of digital transformation and the enhancement of economic competitiveness as its key objectives. The Strategy includes 50 initiatives covering areas such as the development of digital infrastructure, strengthening the innovation and startup ecosystem, applying data-driven decision-making, advancing international digital integration and improving digital skills.
The document also envisages the broad application of artificial intelligence, big data, cloud technologies and other Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies across various sectors of the economy. As a result of the Strategy’s implementation, Azerbaijan aims to increase the share of the digital sector in GDP, improve the quality of services and strengthen its position as a regional digital hub.
