The Centre for Analysis and Coordination of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4SIM), under the Ministry of Economy, has hosted a community meeting with representatives of partner organisations as part of the “4IR Academy – Nation Program” initiative.
The meeting brought together human resources representatives from public and private sector organisations, as well as heads of university career centres. Participants exchanged insights on the skills required in the future labour market, priorities for workforce development in the era of digital transformation, and the achievements of the “4IR Academy – Nation Program.”
Opening the event, Executive Director of 4SIM Fariz Jafarov thanked community members for their support and contribution to the successful implementation of the previous phase of the Nation Program. He highlighted that collaboration between government institutions, the private sector and universities has played a key role in expanding the programme’s reach, strengthening citizens’ digital skills, and supporting the development of Azerbaijan’s human capital.
The meeting featured discussions on the transformation of the labour market towards 2030 and the impact of key global trends — including technological advancement, the green transition, geoeconomic shifts, economic uncertainty and demographic changes — on the future of work.
Participants noted that alongside technical skills such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data analytics, cloud technologies and automation, human-centred skills including analytical thinking, leadership, adaptability, creative thinking, lifelong learning and collaboration will become increasingly critical in the evolving labour market.
The session also covered emerging trends in human resources management, including the use of artificial intelligence tools in HR processes, the development of skills ecosystems and future workforce models.
During the meeting, the results of the previous phase of the “4IR Academy – Nation Program” were presented. Covering the period of 2025–2026, the programme reached more than 67,000 users, who obtained over 107,000 certificates. In addition, more than 18,600 users accessed over 57,000 training sessions translated into Azerbaijani, with more than 41,700 courses completed.
Partners were also informed about the extension of the “Nation Program” for an additional year. The third phase of the programme is expected to begin on 22 June 2026. The new phase will focus on translating an additional 750 training courses into Azerbaijani, introducing locally developed learning materials through the Course Builder functionality provided by the Coursera platform, and strengthening impact measurement through enhanced data collection and analysis.
The “4IR Academy – Nation Program” supports the development of competitive human capital to accelerate Azerbaijan’s transition towards a digital economy. Through the programme, learners gain access to training opportunities in high-demand areas, including artificial intelligence, data science, cybersecurity, project management, business, digital literacy, generative AI, prompt engineering, human resources management and other emerging fields.
The initiative contributes to the implementation of the “Science and Industry Cluster 4.0” development agenda outlined within the “Socio-Economic Development Strategy of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2022–2026.”
