To mark 1 August – Azerbaijani Alphabet and Language Day, the number of courses available in Azerbaijani under the Nation Program, implemented as part of the 4IR Academy, has been further expanded.
As part of the third phase of the Nation Program, an additional 750 courses on the Coursera platform have been translated into Azerbaijani and made available to learners. This brings the total number of Azerbaijani-language courses on the platform to 3,250.
The newly added courses cover a wide range of fields, including artificial intelligence and data analytics, business and management, software development, leadership, cybersecurity, cloud technologies, sustainability and engineering, personal development, and other areas.
The 4IR Academy – Nation Program is jointly implemented by the Center for Analysis and Coordination of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4SIM) under Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Economy, the State Agency for Science and Higher Education under the Ministry of Science and Education, and US-based Coursera.
The Program aims to support the development of knowledge and skills in Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies, accelerate Azerbaijan’s transition towards a digital economy, and strengthen the country’s human capital by equipping people with skills aligned with the evolving needs of the labour market.
Courses available through the Program are developed by more than 375 leading universities and technology companies worldwide. These include Stanford University, the University of Oxford, Yale University, Duke University, the University of Michigan and the University of London, as well as global technology and education providers such as Google, IBM, Microsoft, Meta, Amazon Web Services and DeepLearning.AI.
More than 21,000 courses are currently available to participants through the Coursera platform. Azerbaijani citizens can register for the Program via form.4sim.gov.az.
The Program is implemented through a public-private partnership model. PASHA Holding, SOCAR, TotalEnergies, XRG, JOCAP, Norm Cement, Smart Solutions Group and B2B Group support the third phase of the Program as part of their corporate social responsibility initiatives.
During the previous phase of the Nation Program, more than 67,000 users joined the initiative and successfully completed 107,759 courses, earning internationally recognized certificates. More than 18,600 learners benefited from courses translated into Azerbaijani, completing a total of 41,700 courses.
