Fariz Jafarov, Executive Director of 4SIM, shared Azerbaijan’s experience in advancing artificial intelligence and energy infrastructure at the World Economic Forum’s Energy Forum 2026 in Geneva.

The Center for Analysis and Coordination of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4SIM) under Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Economy participated in the World Economic Forum’s Energy Forum 2026 – Solving the New Energy Equation, held in Geneva.

The Forum brought together senior leaders from the global energy and technology ecosystem to discuss energy security, rising energy demand, the development of resilient and affordable energy systems, the acceleration of energy innovation and the deployment of emerging technologies.

Fariz Jafarov, Executive Director of 4SIM, contributed to the session “The AI Power Challenge and Opportunity: What’s Next?”, highlighting the need to advance digital and energy infrastructure in parallel with the growing adoption of artificial intelligence.

The discussion emphasized the importance of reliable data infrastructure, adequate energy capacity and investment mechanisms that can support the scaling of AI technologies while ensuring sustainable and resilient energy systems.

The event also featured findings from “Piloting Buildings of the Future: Azerbaijan’s AI-Energy Playbook”, a research and pilot initiative implemented by 4SIM in collaboration with the World Economic Forum’s AI Energy Impact Initiative.

The pilot demonstrated the potential of AI-enabled solutions to optimize heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems in buildings, with the potential to reduce energy use by up to 25% and emissions by 20–40%.

The initiative provides practical insights into how artificial intelligence can be deployed to improve energy efficiency and supports Azerbaijan’s broader efforts to integrate digital technologies into the transition towards a more efficient and sustainable energy system.
